A percentage of the proceeds will go to the indigenous medicinal plant project of Rokpa Trust International, focus on sutherlandia. These plants have been used by all cultures in South Africa as immuun-system boosters and offer relief in cases of HIV/AIDS, cancer, TB.
This year the Exploring Consciousness FilmFest opened on the same day as South Africa's massive deep-space telescope is launched at Sutherland; a reminder for us that the journey into the cosmos and the journey into consciousness are at core one and the same journey; an exploration into the deeper reality of our existence.
In this FilmFest we are all explorers, breaking free of the heavy pull of our preconceptions, viewing on the cinema screen the wider picture, investigating what it means to be fully human, fully aware.
